APACC visits PSP for 2nd Cycle of Accreditation

The Politeknik Seberang Perai (PSP) reaffirms its commitment to upholding quality as it submits itself to another cycle of APACC accreditation through the on-site revisit from 8 to 10 October 2019.

The opening program was graced by the Director General of the Department of Polytechnic and Community College Education (DPCCE), Dr. Mohammad Naim Yaakub. In his special remarks, Dr. Naim welcomed the accreditors and representatives of the industry and alumni. He recognized the commitment of PSP in continuing its subscription to APACC through reaccreditation. PSP Director Mejar (K) Ts. Hj. Mohd Fisal Bin Haroon AMP also acknowledged the efforts and hard work exerted by all teaching and non-teaching staff of PSP in upholding quality as well as the preparations made for this on-site visit.

PSP Deputy Director for Academics Dr. Nor Hasni binti Haron proceeded with the briefing on the actions taken by PSP to address the recommendations given during the first on-site visit conducted in 2015.

Consequently, the APACC accreditors addressed the attendees of the opening program. Member Accreditor Mr. Natarajan Rajkumar shared that quality is doing the right thing without knowing that somebody is looking. Lead Accreditor Dr. Paiboon Saiyawongs, on the other hand, emphasized cooperation and teamwork; for quality is always a product of collective effort. He carried on with the orientation of the on-site revisit schedule.

Interviews with key personnel, observations, validation of the Self-Study Report, tour of the facilities, and presentation of documentary evidences for each criterion followed right after and continued in the succeeding days of the visit to reassess PSP’s compliance with APACC standards.

During the exit meeting, Dr. Saiyawongs conveyed PSP’s notable accomplishments and practices through commendations, affirmed compliance to standards, and addressed the polytechnic’s areas for improvement with recommendations.
