The Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC) represented by its President, Prof. G.L.D. Wickramasinghe formally handed over the certificate of accreditation and the plaque of recognition to the TESDA Women’s Center (TWC) for achieving the Platinum level accreditation during its fifth cycle of APACC evaluation conducted from October 3-6, 2023.

The brief ceremony was held on April 15, 2024, at the TESDA Central Office in Taguig City, Philippines. The certificate and plaque of recognition were formally received by Sec. Suharto T. Mangudadatu, Ph.D., TESDA Philippines Director General, together with Hon. Aniceto Bertiz III, Deputy Director General for TESD Operations; Mr. El Cid Castillo, Qualifications and Standards Office Executive Director; Atty. Clefford E. Pascual, Chief, Partnership, Apprenticeship, and Incentives Division, Office of the Deputy Director General for Partnerships and Special Concerns; and Ms. Mylene H. Somera, TWC Acting Chief.

In his congratulatory address, Prof. Wickramasinghe extended his greetings to TWC noting the exemplary work done by its staff and management throughout the Center’s APACC accreditation journey which began in 2008. He also expressed his hope for all TVET centers in the country under the guidance of TESDA, to look up to TWC as a model institution, in their pursuit of holistic development for TVET education. Likewise, in his acceptance speech, Sec. Mangudadatu congratulated TWC and commended its staff led by Ms. Somera, for being the first Philippine TVET center to achieve Platinum level APACC accreditation. He also extended TESDA’s continued support to both APACC and CPSC as a dedicated partner in the Philippines.
