The Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC), through the Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC), officially welcomed the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) of Pakistan into its growing network of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) partners following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on June 29, 2026 at the Hotel Hilton Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by the representatives of The Colombo Plan Secretariat and the participants of the CPSC Regional Program on "Future-Ready Skilled Workforce and Skills Development: Strengthening Regional Cooperation through TVET in Asia and the Pacific." Moreover, this special occasion underscored the significance of strengthening institutional partnerships to advance quality TVET and human resource development across the Asia-Pacific region.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Prof. (Dr.) Suresh Kumar Dhameja, Director General, on behalf of the Colombo Plan Staff College, and Mr. Muhammad Aamir Jan, Executive Director, on behalf of the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, Pakistan. The signing was witnessed by Professor Naeem Yaqoob, Faculty Specialist of CPSC, and Mr. Muhammad Tanveer Aslam, Director (SS&C), NAVTTC.
As Pakistan's apex body for TVET, NAVTTC plays a vital role in developing a competent and globally competitive workforce through skills development initiatives aligned with national priorities and industry demands. Through this collaboration with APACC, NAVTTC further strengthens its commitment to promoting quality standards and institutional excellence while expanding opportunities for regional cooperation. For APACC, the partnership marks another important milestone in broadening its network of organizations that are dedicated to advancing quality assurance in TVET throughout the Asia-Pacific. By forging strategic alliances with national TVET authorities, APACC continues to champion continuous quality improvement, institutional excellence, and international cooperation among its member economies.
Under the partnership, both organizations will pursue collaborative initiatives in accreditation and certification, capacity building, professional development, research, knowledge exchange, and the sharing of best practices to strengthen the quality, relevance, and responsiveness of TVET systems. As APACC and NAVTTC implement the provisions of the agreement, the partnership is expected to contribute to stronger TVET systems and a more future-ready, skilled, and resilient workforce across the Asia-Pacific region.
