On February 14, 2022, CPSC Director General and APACC President, Prof. G.L.D. Wickramasinghe attended the Workshop on Formulation of Five Years Strategic Plan on Institution Development and Preparation for Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission,” organized by Sakonnakhon Technical College (SKNTC), to give his opening remarks for the workshop.

SKNTC is one of Thailand’s biggest technical colleges, located in Sakonnakhon Province in the northeastern part of Thailand.

In his speech, Prof. Wickramasinghe commended SKNTC for their initiative to incorporate quality management systems (QMS) during their strategic planning. With this strategy, the institution can already align its activities with QMS as standards to ensure delivery of high caliber quality TVET to stakeholders, such as the APACC Criteria among others.

Additionally, Prof. Wickramasinghe highlighted Strategic Planning as an essential organizational management activity to identify the institution’s strengths and weaknesses. He further emphasized the importance of investing in their capabilities in order to take advantage of the opportunities and address the threats for overall effective performance and operations of the institution.

Also present during the program were APACC Special Officer in Thailand, Dr. Paiboon Saiyawongs, who served as one of the Resource Persons, along with Dr. Pongsatorn Pimpanit, Director of Quality Assurance, Office of the Vocational Education Commission (OVEC); Dr. Anan Ngam Sa-ad, SKNTC Advisor; and Mr. Pradit Yanprasert, SKNTC Director.
