Politeknik Port Dickson (PPD), located at Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia submitted itself to Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC) accreditation from November 28 to 30, 2016. The 3-day on-site visit was led by Prof. Dr. G. Kulanthaivel, PPD On-Site Visit Team Leader and Chairman for APACC Operations and Dr. Romulita Alto, PPD On-Site Visit Team Member and CPSC Faculty Consultant, supported by Ms. Adrienne Abril, PCD/APACC Officer. The APACC President, Dr. Ramhari Lamichhane, was also in attendance to supervise the accreditation proceedings.

The onsite visit aimed to verify if PPD meets APACC's standards based on the seven (7) APACC Criteria – Governance and Management; Teaching and Learning; Faculty and Staff, Research and Development; Extension, Consultancy and Linkages; Resources and Support to Students.
APACC President Dr. Lamichhane inaugurates the Architecture Gallery of the Polytechic
The polytechnic is situated in a sprawling location in Negeri Sembilan, one of Malaysia's thirteen states, which lies on the western coast of Peninsular Malaysia, just south of the capital Kuala Lumpur. The polytechnic envisions to be a towering TVET institution globally. Its mission is to produce quality, holistic and well-balanced TVET graduates with entrepreneurship skills in order to fulfill the needs of the nation, to develop and sustain smart partnerships with relevant parties locally and internationally, and to benefit society through education, research and innovation. PPD offers diploma courses such as its niche area Architecture and Civil Engineering, to name a few.

During the Opening Program, Mejar (K) Tn. Hj. Mohd Kharir Bin Mohd Ibrahim, Director of PPD warmly welcomed the APACC Team to the institution. The Special Remarks and activity schedule was presented by Dr. Kulanthaivel followed by the Keynote Address of Dr. Lamichhane.
APACC team validates Self-Study Report through interviews with the Staff and Faculty
A tour to various areas of the institution and interviews with criterion members ensued after the Opening Program. At the exit meeting on November 30, Dr. Kulanthaivel presented the highlights of the on-site visit, including the qualitative results detailing the commendations (demonstrated strengths), affirmations (healthy practices being adopted), and recommendations (suggested measures to address areas for improvement).

Results of the on-site visit activity will be communicated to PPD after the deliberation of the APACC Board in January 2017.
