Pilot testing and Accreditation in the Philippines

The APACC documents have been finalized and in order to further enhance its validity a pilot testing to two (2) TVET institutions in the Philippines, namely, TESDA Women's Center and Meralco Foundation Inc. will be conducted. The first Accreditation exercise in the Philippines is also slotted on 27-28 March when a team of APACC accreditors will conduct the onsite accreditation exercise of International Academy of Film &Television, Cebu, Philippines.

To further strengthen the APACC accreditation process in the Philippines, a meeting with the Deputy Director General Ms. Milagros Dawa Hernandez and various Executive Directors of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) was held last 4 January 2008. The meeting discussed the accreditation framework and status and, the scope of the activities to be undertaken for the implementation of the APACC in the Philippines and the role of TESDA as the National Coordinator for Accreditation.

Ms. Hernandez and all the Executive Directors have signified their full support for the fast tracking of APACC in the Philippines. An implementing guidelines of the Memorandum of Agreement signed between CPSC and TESDA is being drafted which shall stipulate the roles and responsibilities of the two parties.
