Final Preparations for the Experts' Meeting

With only less than two weeks to go, CSPC and APACC are making final arrangements for the Experts' Meeting on "Competence Building in APACC Accreditation".

The Experts' Meeting will be a convergence of minds and hearts willing to share their experiences and expertise, and wanting to review and approve the APACC documents for measuring and ensuring quality in technical and vocational education and training (TVET) appropriate for Asia Pacific environment. Twenty four (24) experts, representing 19 APACC member governments: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore and Sri Lanka have been invited to attend the program.

The Experts' Meeting will consist of a mixture of keynote and special messages, special lectures, and plenary discussions. It will run from 25-29 June 2007 and will have the gracious presence of many dignitaries which include the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Philippines and Chairman of the CPSC Governing Board, His Excellency Mr. W. M. Senevirathna; APACC President and incumbent CPSC Director General and CEO, Dr. Man- Gon Park; CPSC Director Emeritus, Dr. Chiranjib Kumar Basu; incoming CPSC Director General, Dr. Shyamal Majumdar; and the President of RMUTT in Thailand, Dr. Numyoot Songthanapitak;

The Experts' Meeting will be coordinated by Dr Suresh Kumar Dhameja, CPSC Faculty Member and APACC Coordinator, and Prof Myong Hee Kim, CPSC Faculty Member, and will be conducted in Korea University of Technology and Education (KUT), Cheonan, Republic of Korea. KUT, under the purview of the Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRD Korea), aims at contributing to the national development by training creative leaders and experts in the field of technology.
