APACC signs MOA with HRD-Korea

Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC) President Dr. Man-Gon Park and President, Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRD Korea) Dr. Yong-Dal Kim, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on 21 February 2007 at the CPSC Headquarters, Manila, Philippines. The parties to the MOA agreed, among others, to promote the goals and objectives of APACC as a mechanism to encourage TVET systems for HRD to undergo accreditation under APACC procedures and standards. Dr. Hyung-Chul Jeong, Deputy Director, International Strategy Team, HRD Korea accompanied President Kim during the signing.

Dr. Park is optimistic that HRD Korea is in the best position to host the APACC Secretariat because of its competitive standing not only in Korea but globally as well. President Yong-Dal Kim expressed his hope that a framework in TVET will be established through this cooperation with APACC. He believes that as APACC and HRD Korea continue to share knowledge, the partnership will be sustained and will have tremendous effect in the field of human resources development through TVET in the Asia Pacific region.

Dr. Suresh Kumar Dhameja, CPSC Faculty Member and Mr. Suk-Jin Lee, Executive Director of the HRD Korea Regional Office in the Philippines witnessed the MOA signing. Twenty five (25) participants from eleven (11) CPSC Member countries of the ongoing Regional Program on Change Management for Human Resources in TVET Systems were also present during the signing ceremony.
