APACC inks partnership with MAB, Maldives

Signing of MOA with the Maldives Accreditation Board (MAB) at the start of the year signifies the entrance of one more country into agreement with Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC) to advance the core principles of accreditation and certification of TVET systems for HRD in Asia and the Pacific Region.

APACC President Dr. Man-Gon Park and Director General of MAB, Government of Maldives, Mr. Ahmed Anwar, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on 11 January, 2007.

The agreement specifies joint undertakings to promote the goals and objectives of APACC as a mechanism to encourage TVET systems for HRD and to undergo accreditation under APACC procedures and standards.

MAB was created by a Presidential Decree in 14 August 2000. MAB's mandate is to enhance and assure quality of Tertiary Education in Maldives and to provide a Framework for recognition of qualifications offered in Maldives and other countries.

Prof. Chuluuntsetseg Dagvadorj, CPSC Faculty Member, and Mr. Abdul Hannan Waheed, Deputy Director of MAB, witnessed the MOA signing.
