APACC and TESDA Sign MOA

CPSC Governing Board immediate past Chairman and Philippines' Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Director-General Honorable Secretary Augusto "Boboy" Syjuco, and Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC) President and CPSC Director General Dr. Man-Gon Park signed a mutual agreement last 09 June 2006, for collaborative partnership in advancing the aims and objectives of APACC.

As head of the Philippines' major agency in technical education and skills development training, Secretary Syjuco's positive response to the Agreement is expected to inspire APACC to pursue its primary objective of advancing the core principles of accreditation and certification of TVET systems for HRD in the Philippines, as well as in Asia and the Pacific Region.

The Agreement specifies joint undertakings to promote the goals and objectives of APACC as a mechanism to encourage TVET systems for HRD to undergo evaluation under APACC procedures and standards, among others.

The signing was witnessed by Dr. Santiago M. Yabut, TESDA Deputy Director General for Field Operations, and Dr. Ligaya D. Valmonte, CPSC Faculty and Director for Special Services.
