Dr. Man-Gon Park is the Director General and CEO of the Colombo Plan Staff College for Technician Education (CPSC), which is an intergovernmental international organization for Human Resources Development in Asia and the Pacific Region. He was a Faculty Consultant from Korea, and an expert in information systems development and ICT-based TEVT systems. Prior to his current appointment, he served as a faculty consultant at CPSC seconded by Korean Government through KOICA.
Dr. Park is also the Chairman and Head Professor of the Division of Electronic Computing and Telecommunication Engineering at the PuKyong National University, Republic of Korea, where he has worked since 1981. He was also visiting professor at the Department of Computer Science, University of Liverpool, UK; exchange professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Kansas, USA; and visiting scholar at the School of Computers and Information Science, University of South Australia.
He was dispatched to Mongolia and People's Rep. of China by KOICA on various projects as information systems consultant. He has also embarked on consulting works and conducted training programs in ICT on individual capacity for Korean groups of companies, governmental and non-governmental agencies and other institutions in Korea. Also he has joined in international consulting works for Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Bhutan, Pakistan, Indonesia and the Philippines and other countries funded by the World Bank, ADB, ILO and other international organizations. He has delivered lectures and conducted collaborative programs with other regional organizations such as the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), Japan International cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO).
Some of his areas of interest in research are: software reliability engineering, business process reengineering, Internet & web technology, and multimedia information processing technology, and quality management system. He serves as vice president, member and academic board member of various professional societies as the Korean Multimedia Society, the Korean Information Science Society, Korea Information Processing Society, the, IEEE, ACM and IASTED, respectively. He has authored and co-authored 120 academic and technical papers, 14 books and other reports in his field of expertise. He received his bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees in Statistical Computing Science from the KyungPook National University, Rep. of Korea.
Recently Korean Government has awarded him with the official commendation for his professional contributions and achievements in development of knowledge networking system & web-based information systems. Also, the Philippine Government has commended his leadership in the area of human resources development.
