Dr. Manuel T. Corpus is Executive Director and Ex-officio Board member of AACCUP. He is the agency’s founding President and Chairman of the Board and President for its first 12 years of existence in 1987-1999.

 

   A two-term President of the Cagayan State University, 1979-1989, Dr. Corpus was elected President of the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) for the term 1983-1985, a position which afforded him the chance to conceptualize and later pave the way for the organization of an accrediting agency for state institutions. He then became President of the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University in 1989-1999 during which time he sat as the pioneering President of the AACCUP.

 

   Dr. Corpus was the head of the team that studied and formulated the core scheme for institutional accreditation which is now being implemented by AACCUP. He has extensively written on accreditation and quality framework and has presented papers on these subjects in INQAAHE and APQN conferences. He has a wide experience as team leader, accreditor or consultant in about 200 program survey visits. Because of his experience, Dr. Corpus' expertise has been tapped by the Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC) as Consultant on Institutional Accreditation and has been invited as an international accreditation expert to Oman.
  

    Dr. Corpus holds a Masters degree in Public Administration from the University of the Philippines and a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh, U.S.A.
