Any educational institution seeking accreditation by APACC must demonstrate that it meets APACC's standards. A series of activities is being proposed to orient the member countries through their respective NCAs or upon invitation by individual institutions on the subject, process, standards and requirements for institutional accreditation. Applying for accreditation in each of the four levels is summarized into the following steps:
Applicant contacts the designated National Coordinator for Accreditation (NCA).
The applicant submits accomplished application form to the NCA. NCA determines eligibility and endorses application to APACC. The NCA requires documents, among them are:
The name of the institution applying for accreditation and the component programs
Board Resolution, Presidential Decrees, Law or any legal document providing for the creation or operation of the Institution
Enrolment Data
List of all Programs Offered
List of all administration officials, faculty and staff; their positions and academic degrees
Most recent Institutional Plan
APACC reviews and confirms eligibility by directly notifying the applicant, copy furnished NCA.
Applicant prepares required documents based on the Self-Survey Guide, in consultation with NCA.
Submits Self-Survey Report to NCA within the year. NCA evaluates Self-Survey Report and recommends On-Site Visit (or other action) to APACC.
APACC reviews NCA recommendation with Self-Survey Report. If approved prepares for site visit on agreed schedule between APACC, NCA and Institution.
Site-Visit Team conducts evaluation based on APACC's Standards and Policies. Awards Certificate of Commitment - Candidatus Level.
Submits audit recommendation for approval of Accreditation Chair, APACC.
When the result of the report is acceptable, Certificate of Accreditation - Accreditus Level is issued to the applicant Institution.
If not accredited, applicant is considered on probation and corrects all deficiencies within 1 year. May submit request for next on-site visit until accredited.
