The President of the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC), Mr. James Knight and the Manager for International Marketing, Mr. Rudy Sabas, paid a visit to CPSC on April 03, 2008 to explore the possibility of joint cooperation.

ACCC is the national, voluntary membership organization created to represent colleges and institutes to government, business and industry, both in Canada and internationally, with a mission to provide leadership in supporting member institutions in their provision of life-long learning opportunities which promote both individual development and that of the society and economy.

The Director General, Dr. Shyamal Majumdar, fondly welcomed the ACCC delegation and stressed the desire of CPSC to reactive the membership of Canada to the Staff College for the benefit of all countries in the Colombo Plan region. Some other major points discussed were the (1) joint bidding for consultancy projects, (2) hosting of a joint training program in Canada; (3) internship nomination of Canadian young professionals to CPSC, and (4) faculty exchange program.

The CPSC briefer was presented along with the Web-based Teaching and Learning System which enabled extensive sharing and showcasing of the major thrust areas of the College, particularly in the field of Information and Communication Technology.

In conclusion, Mr. Knight expressed his appreciation to the Staff College with hopes for a renewed involvement and broadened collaboration of ACCC with CPSC and its participating member countries.

He gave his acknowledgment that ACCC & CPSC have common thrusts to work on, thus, was enthusiastic to pursue future collaboration.
